Terms and conditions for car rental

General

  • Rental bookings are personal and cannot be transferred.
  • You must be 18 years old to rent a trailer, car, truck or minibus from us.
  • You must present a valid driving licence (original document). See section Driver’s licence below.
  • Cars must be picked up and returned at the same station.
  • Fuel is not included in the price.
  • Animals may not be brought into the cars.
  • Smoking is prohibited in all OKQ8 rental cars.
  • International rentals and drop-in rentals require dual payment cards.

Payment

The estimated rental cost is paid in advance. Payment must be made with a bank or credit card that the renter has the right to sign. Some corporate cards can also be accepted but must not be issued in the name of another person. Check with your station.

  • In addition to a full day, 1/5 of the daily cost is charged per overtime hour.
  • In addition to a full week, 1/7 of the weekly price is charged for the following day.
  • In addition to a full month, 1/30 is charged for the following day.

Customer background check

In connection with booking/rental of the vehicle, we carry out a customer background check. If you have deliberately mishandled vehicles or failed to fulfil your obligations during a previous rental, this may be recorded in the information list provided by the industry organisation B.U.S. Shared Mobility Sweden. If so, your booking/rental will be refused. The same applies if you have defaulted on past payments etc. If you are not
registered in Sweden or are registered at a PO box address, a poste restante address or have a protected identity, two credit cards are required for rental.

Driver’s licence

To rent a car, a valid driver’s licence must be presented to our staff at the station. If the driver’s licence is issued in a non-Nordic country, a passport, EU ID or Swedish ID
document is also required as a complement. Please note that we do not accept older types of paper driver’s licences even if they are valid in your home country. The driving licence must be plastic-coated and meet security requirements according to EU standards 2013 or equivalent.

International rentals

When traveling outside Sweden, you should always contact the rental station for the current price list and information. A so-called ”drive-on insurance” must be taken out for the rental period. When renting to travel abroad, dual credit cards are required.

Claims Cost Reduction (SKR)

For a special fee, you can reduce the fee that is charged if the car is damaged. The claim cost reduction per day started is 110 SEK.

Skadekostnadseliminering (SKE)

For a special fee, you can eliminate any fees charged if the car is damaged. Claims cost elimination per day started is 170 SEK.

Damage Without SKR or SKE With SKR With SKE

  • Vehicle damage passenger car:
    Without SKR or SKE 12,500 SEK. With SKR 3,000 SEK. With SKE – SEK.
  • Traffic damage:
    Without SKR or SKE 5,000 SEK. With SKR 3,000 SEK. With SKE – SEK.
  • Youth deductible (under 24 years):
    Without SKR or SKE 1,500 SEK. With SKR 1,500 SEK. With SKE 1,500 SEK.

Taking out the claims cost reduction and damage claims elimination does not release the renter from liability for repair costs regarding damage that has occurred through negligence, e.g. carelessly loaded car, stained or broken interior, broken controls or similar damage. If the vehicle shows signs of neglect or is dirty when returned, to an extent going beyond what would arise from normal use, we have the right to charge a reasonable cost for restoring the vehicle.

Maintenance

If the vehicle shows signs of neglect or is dirty when returned, to an extent going beyond what would arise from normal use costs for restoration and reconditioning + any down­time will be charged. If smoking has occurred in the car, or furry animals have been present in the car, the renter will be charged the actual cost of cleaning and sanitation. If the car has been refueled using  the wrong fuel, actual costs arising from this will be charged. Examples of such costs are towing, workshop costs, downtime costs and refilling with the correct fuel.

Parking fines and other violations

You are responsible for all fines or costs incurred because of parking or other traffic violations during the rental period. If you do not fulfil these responsibilities, an administration fee per violation will be charged in addition to the fee.
