How are OK and OKQ8 related?

OKQ8 AB is one of Sweden’s largest fuel companies with approximately 700 stations across the country and offers a complete range of products and services for both the car and the motorist.

But how does OKQ8 relate to OK Norrbotten and the other OK associations?

OK is a consumer cooperative movement that consists of six independent economic associations, of which OK economic association is the largest. OK economic association also owns 50 percent of the fuel company OKQ8 AB, of which Kuwait Petroleum International owns the other half.

The OK associations are:

  • OK Economic Association
  • OK Köping
  • OK Norrbotten
  • OK Värmland
  • OK Västerbotten
  • OK Örnsköldsvik

All six OK associations cooperate under the OKQ8 brand with, among other things, product range, marketing and card and invoicing systems. OK Norrbotten has no direct ownership in OKQ8 AB. Instead, the cooperation between OK Norrbotten and OKQ8 is regulated in an agreement. The main supplier to the OKQ8 chain of automotive products and home and leisure products is Cikab (Coop Inköps AB). Groceries are supplied by Axfood Närlivs AB. Through a cooperation agreement with MECA, we have access to a complete workshop concept for our car workshops. OKQ8 supplies fuel to the OK associations.
