Have Your Say
OK Norrbotten is a cooperative association owned by its 120,000 members. Today, we have 19 staffed stations, 15 automated stations, and 200 employees who—together with you—want to work for a vibrant Norrbotten. By becoming an elected representative, you represent the members and their interests.
We are looking for people who want to help drive OK Norrbotten and our region forward. We want you to be involved and eager to make an impact. You can do this by being elected by the members as an owner representative, a nomination committee member, or a board member.
Do you want to help take OK Norrbotten and our region into the future? Take the chance. As the voice of the members, you don’t just help influence our operations—you also receive training and the opportunity to learn how a cooperative works.
Below you can read about the roles through which you can help influence our organization.
Owner Representatives
At each staffed station, there is a station council consisting of two owner representatives, the sales manager, and the deputy sales manager. Together, the station council works to ensure positive development of the station and to increase member engagement. The owner representatives are the link between the members, the station, the association’s management, and the board. As an owner representative, you may also represent the station at the general meeting, which is the association’s highest decision-making body. Owner representatives are appointed through digital elections in which all members have the opportunity to vote. They are elected for a term of two years. As an owner representative, you should want to be involved and influence our operations.

Nomination Committee for Owner Representatives
As a member of the nomination committee for owner representatives, you have a key role in our association. You are part of a group responsible for reviewing all nominated owner representatives and compiling a basis for elections at each station. The nomination committee strives to ensure that the nominated owner representatives reflect society as a whole as much as possible and to promote diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity, experience, beliefs, and more. Members of the nomination committee for owner representatives are appointed by the general meeting for a two-year term.
Nomination Committee for the General Meeting
As a member of the nomination committee for the general meeting, you prepare all important elections ahead of the general meeting, such as remuneration for elected representatives, the composition of the board, and auditors. The nomination committee consists of three people and is responsible for reviewing nominations to the board and compiling a proposal for the general meeting. Members of the nomination committee for the general meeting are appointed by the general meeting for a one-year term.
The Board
The board’s task is to lead OK Norrbotten and to implement the overall goals decided at the general meeting throughout the year. The board is also responsible for ensuring that the operations are run in a businesslike manner and maintain financial stability. The board consists of 3–7 members as well as two employee representatives. Board members are appointed by the general meeting for a two-year term. To ensure continuity in the board’s work, half of the members are elected in even-numbered years and the other half in odd-numbered years.

How It Works
As a member, you have the opportunity each year to nominate yourself or someone else for positions of trust within OK Norrbotten. Every other year, you also have the opportunity to vote for the owner representatives nominated for your station. Each member has one vote, and the two candidates who receive the most votes at each station are elected.
You own it. We listen.
